Candle Making & Candle Care

At Ponderosa Bliss, candle making is more than a labor of love!  So many variables come into play in the process … our soy wax is melted at precise temperatures so the wax and fragrance are adequately fused. The wax is allowed to cool to just the right temperature for pouring and once it's poured we monitor our candles over the next 24 hours for strict quality control. This process allows our candles to cure properly, burn evenly and hold as much fragrance as the wax can contain.

BURNING TIPS: When burning your candle for the first time, it is important to allow the candle to burn so that the wax pool reaches all the way across the top of the container. The general rule of thumb is to burn the candle for one hour per diameter. So if you have a 3" diameter candle, burn it for no more than 3 hours. This will prevent tunneling, which is when the candle burns straight down the middle and not out to the edge.

WICKS: Always keep wicks trimmed to 1/4" to prevent soot and smoking. If the flame starts to burn too high, put the candle out, let it cool and trim the "crispy" part of the wick off. Then relight the candle again. Be careful when you trim your wick not to cut it too short, it will drown in wax.

FRAGRANCE OIL: The fragrance and essential oils used in our natural soy wax candles and scented fizzy bath blasts are skin safe, Phthalate free and Nitro Musk free. Ponderosa Bliss has several fabulous scents to choose from and we're convinced that you’ll enjoy them as much as we have!

We strive for perfection and give our products an abundance of TLC!
